Since 2002, the Foundation has been granting a biennial award for outstanding research and journalism on Iran. Laureates are selected by an ad hoc committee appointed by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
The Prize is awarded alternately to authors and journalists for outstanding research and media coverage on the geopolitical, economic or social situation of Iran. Consideration is given to not only the quality of the publications, but also their impartiality and objectivity.
In exceptional cases when no laureate has been selected in the relevant category, the Committee may select a laureate in the alternative category.
To submit a nomination, authors and editors are invited to submit their publication and covering letter explaining its' significance to the Foundation. Regarding the Journalism Prize, the journalists themselves or their Editors in Chief are invited to send a collection of the articles.
